Wilson's Vintage Guitars - "Old enough to know better... too young too care"
Why you should buy and or  trade with us ...

Mr Wilson insists that every instrument that comes in undergoes a thorough examination usually about one hour in length. followed by extended playing. We don't do quantity,  only quality.

1.First an initial inspection to determine the playability of the instrument and to assess originality.  Usually determined by
a method we like to call "playing"

2.Next a complete interior look at wiring, pick-ups , switches and pots to determine amount of authentic original equipment.

3. We make any repairs required to enhance enjoyment and playabilty.  Then we play everything that comes in, so it has to work, or it's no fun right ?

4. A complete non-invasive cleaning and polishing , always careful to balance the preservation of original vibe/mojo with the necessary renourishing and protection of old finishes and delicate wood components.

We let them keep their scars, we just like to clean them up,  oh and play them of course to make sure they still play,
 you understand i'm sure.

5. Lastly we  re-assemble, replace strings, adjust and play again to make sure it still plays ...

Mr. Wilson says you can't clean vintage wear off of an instrument, only someone else's  vintage grunge. He also says you can't play too much with your children or guitars.

NO RELIC  JOBS! ... whatever that is .

NO exceptions,  from the oldest Strat or Les Paul to the un-appreciated (for now) early Mexican fenders. They all get their time on the bench. Look below to see pics from a typical new arrival check and play sessions.
